Preventing Breast Cancer
Breast cancer. Just hearing those two words is a scary thought for most women, especially for those who may have had a friend or relative battle the disease. There is still much we do not know about breast cancer, but knowing your personal risk and leading a healthy lifestyle can help lower your risk.
Healthy lifestyle choices include:
- Know your breasts by doing monthly breast self exams
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Exercise
- Limit the amount of alcohol you drink
- Don’t smoke
- Limit postmenopausal hormone replacement where possible
For more information request a breast health packet or call 337-993-8300 to schedule a mammogram.
